Spatial Disappointment

Has anyone else noticed that there aren't UFO sightings like there were in the 60's and 70's? Hell, even into the 80's. It's like aliens just quit visiting. (Clearly it's not that there are less drugs).Ever wonder why they stopped coming around? I think I know. I think we've scared them off.
No, not by our military might and technology. By our society. I mean, I can't blame them. I get a lot bit nervous and worried about the direction we are headed in as well. I think they've simply given up on the search for intelligent life on our planet because, well, there's so little of it. Unless you count cats. Cats are pretty smart. Humans? Not so much. Humans are the dumbest smart creature on the planet.

Seriously, folks, but we may be getting a little carried away these days. This "trans" stuff is just getting absurd. Have you seen this stuff lately? Holy hell.

There's a "man" who was/is a woman who is pregnant. Their spouse is a "woman" who is/was a man. Now the "man" is pregnant. And we get these articles about a "pregnant man". Look here, if you have a vagina and uterus you are NOT a MAN. It's simple biology. Is our school system failing so badly we can't tell the difference in anatomy?
It doesn't matter if a woman grows a beard, she's still a female.
But...but... this one "identifies" as a man. So? Does she have a "Y" chromosome? She can identify as a damn cantaloupe if she wants, doesn't change biology.

A man puts a skirt on and now he's suddenly a woman? Doesn't work that way. I dressed up as Jason Vorhees for Halloween once; you see me living in a lake and killing people? Sure, the tendencies might be there but it's not a profession. (Mostly for legal reasons. Plus, waterfront property is too expensive and I'd have to work to pay for it which would cut into my serial killing lifestyle).

And what's this "non binary" bullshit?! You read about this? People who refer to themselves as "they" because they don't "identify as either gender". What the shit, people?!
There's a woman in Canada who just gave birth. She fought to have the baby's gender listed as "U" on its birth certificate. Says the baby can decide its own gender when it gets old enough. Seriously. I can't make this stuff up.
It's not like the Royal "We" or some multiple personality disorder. It's "They". As in "They" are part of the reason the UFO's went away.
I can see it now, some Science Officer from a far-off planet is asked to come abduct and test humans. Their civilization is vastly more advanced than ours and they're supposed to see if we are worthy of their advanced technology. He looks down at Earth on their little interstellar atlas:

"Humans, you say? From EARTH?! No way. We've been down that route. They started advancing then something happened. They just went off the rails. I'm not going back.
"Look, I don't know how it happened but they started some fad where they started 'identifying' as broccoli and half the planet has boiled themselves. We gave them the Pyramids, we helped them develop microwave popcorn and now? Women think they're men, men think they're women. It's like a global psychotic break down there. Nope. Send Bill, I'm not going."

Now we can't have interstellar friends because...people. Unless. Unless all these "non binary" critters ARE from a different galaxy. Like their people came here and dropped them off like "sorry, we broke them.  They're your problem now. Adios"

Look what we've done. Now... stop your shit! I want the Spacemen to come back.
Isn't it bad enough we can't find a Bigfoot anywhere? A whole species of "the missing link" is in hiding because they don't want to be associated with humans. See what we've done? We can't even make new old friends. A camera on every phone in the world and Bigfoot won't even photobomb campers anymore. I'd rather have one Bigfoot or one Spaceman than the ever increasing number of people who "identify" as something they simply aren't.

Captain Miss America

Any of you watch Captain America? Dude, that guy is awesome. A little upsetting to find out it's not an actual biography though. Here I was cheering for him and stuff. But, sadly, it's not real. Ok, well a couple parts are true.
As it turns out, there really was a World War 2. Trippy, right? I'm sure you guys already knew that though. There was a bad guy doing bad things. When his buddy attacked us we got active. Obviously, our military was heavily involved and folks were lining up to enlist in the military.

Even though we were at war, a big big war, not everyone was able to grab a gun and go fight. See, this is the other part of the movie that was true. No no, really. They told some people they couldn't get in. It was "hey, thanks for your patriotic offer but it's gonna be a 'no' from us. You've got a medical condition that goes against our hiring policy". Or something like that.
The list included things like flat feet (I guess the arch in the foot is important), asthma (I guess you've gotta breathe ok when fighting for your life), diabetes (because slipping into a diabetic coma when driving a tank might be bad), facial tattoos (maybe something to do with your decision making skills and how it reflects on your employer), and the list goes on.

Hell, I'd planned on going in the military when I was a senior in high school. Only missed one question on the ASVAB according to my recruiter. He basically told me "just pick what you wanna do."  I wanted to be a pilot. He was all "well, anything but that. You wear glasses and you can't be a pilot if you need glasses going in. How about linguistics or something?"
Didn't matter because before I could finalize everything I found something that also disqualifies you, a felony. Yep. I screwed up and got arrested for a felony a week before I was to enlist. Crap. In the 60's they'd have given me the option of going to the military instead of jail. In 1990, not so much.

Now though? Now a BUNCH of people are upset because they reverted to the rule of no "transgender" people in the military. "Progressives" are saying it as "hateful bigotry" to not let these folks in. For 100 years it's been ok to refuse to hire people with medical, legal or psychiatric issues and there's been no outrage. Yet here we are now.

Now, the President met with military leaders and they all discussed this beforehand. It wasn't some sudden and random thing. Their primary reasoning? It's just not cost effective. Hmm. Let's take a quick looksee.

The military budget increases by 2.4 million to 8.4 million annually by accommodating "trans" people. So not hiring them saves millions of dollars a year. I'm not sure if this includes the roughly 2 years they can't actually do the work they're getting paid for while they undergo surgeries at taxpayer expense. If not, I wonder what that cost is.
Then there's the lifetime of maintenance required which, naturally, would also be at the taxpayer's expense. Ongoing hormone treatment and potential surgeries, have we considered that cost?

Let's go just a tad deeper, shall we? With the WPATH Standards of Care. The most recent version, Version 7 of the Standards of Care, says that is strongly suggested that someone does see a qualified mental health professional if they are going to be starting medical transition. But, it does say it is also ok if the medical professional you are going to is trained in behavioral health and/or they work as part of a multiple disciplinary team, meaning there is probably someone there who would do an evaluation with you.
Huh, well that's weird. I thought the military didn't hire people with a pre-existing need to see a mental health professional. In fact: 'Section 8 is a category of discharge from the United States military, used for a service member judged mentally unfit for service. It also came to mean any service member given such a discharge or behaving as if deserving such a discharge, as in the expression, "he's a Section 8".'

"But what about the special accommodations and allowances that can and must be made for 'trans' people in the military?" Well that's certainly an additional expense as well. Special "we care" type training that interferes with the job. Were they willing to make these allowances and accommodations for Steve Rogers all the times he got rejected? What about all the asthmatics? I'm hearing crickets.

See, ultimately, the military is a job. The can set guidelines for who they will hire. For financial reasons they chose to not hire 'trans' people. 'Trans' people already didn't meet the hiring criteria and the last manager/owner, Obama, made exceptions. The military is under new management and they decided to enforce the rules and quit making exceptions. Don't like it? Apply elsewhere. I hear Starbucks likes a good "progressive" cause.

"Equally Screwed"

We live in a new America. One full of "equality and fairness". A progressively backward society wherein we have to be politically correct even when we don't know what that means. Just go with the flow and disregard the waterfall at the end of that river.
You know New York recently passed a law saying you can't call a guy "mister" if he feels he's female inside? It's a "transgender protection law". You can apparently actually be fined for addressing someone incorrectly. So that they can be treated "equally and fairly".
We are all about "fair and equal" here in America.
It's gotten to be absurd how "politically correct" we are. It's also ridiculous how worried we are about "being fair" when it's convenient. I'm so sick of the double standards.

And now we've got this ludicrous "title 9" crap being shoved down our throat by Emperor Obama. Seriously?! Dude, just sit back, shut up and ride out the rest of your time until we finally replace your dumb ass, Obama.
I'm sure you've heard of this stuff. Schools are being forced to supply bathrooms and locker rooms for "gender neutral" kids or lose their funding. These are kids, man. They can barely identify which CLASSROOM they belong in much less which gender they "identify" with. We're getting a bit carried away these days.

What's worse is that everyone is so shortsighted. Has anyone considered the long term here? Look at the precedent being set. It won't be long before pedophiles use the defense "I'm just identifying with my inner child". Sound dumb? So does an 8 year old who barely learned to tie their shoes now demanding they are the opposite sex inside.
Look, it's really simple. I've said it before. Look down. Which parts do you have? That's what sex you are. You're welcome. Once you become an adult, if you want gender reassignment surgery then save up and get it. Once you have the requisite parts then that's the bathroom you use. This isn't rocket science, people.
I've heard people compare our practices to those in Europe. Didn't we have a revolution once because we aren't Europe? Coulda sworn that this was America. Oh wait... We've gotta try to be like Europe so everyone is equal. I forgot. So here's an idea: move to Europe. Then you won't have to fight for equality or anything. Europe's already got it all worked out and waiting for you. Go ahead, pack up and go. But just remember... Once you get there you no longer get those American freedoms and benefits you like so much.

I see it all the time: people want everything America has to offer they just don't want it to be, you know, America. "Let's be like Canada, eh!" Or "look, let's be like Europe!"
Well here's an idea, we already have a Canada and a Europe so go to whichever is your preference. Why try to turn America into NOT America? Why not just change your own citizenship instead of everyone else's?

A few months back we had the Oscars and many people were upset over there not being enough minority actors nominated. Talent doesn't even factor in anymore apparently. Should we just nominate everyone that was in a movie? I'm pretty sure then people would bitch and moan over who wins too. Maybe they should all just get participation awards like they do for kids in sports these days.
"You played a role in a movie? Well here's your little trophy. Run along now, Tiger."

In the interest of "fairness" I propose we force MasterCard to change its name. We should call it something like "mediocrity card" now. Keep it middle of the road, ya know.
Move into an apartment building? Everyone's locks should be the same. That way we get rid of a Master key and everyone is equal. MasterLock, sorry, you're gonna have to change your name too. Too many negative connotations in the word "master".

All clothes will now need to be a standard beige color from now on. No more name brand labels. Can't let anyone feel bad that they can't afford a Michael Kors purse either. It's "not fair". Might make the non-affluent feel poor.
While we're at it, let's make sure everyone earns the exact same wage. Keep everything equal. Doctors will make minimum wage. In fact, let's do away with degrees. Can't have the inequality of some people working harder for a good education and career than others.

Am I getting carried away here? You betcha! But look at the direction we are going in. Everyone is constantly complaining about how unfair and unequal they get treated. Unless they actually get treated fairly. Then it's some kind of grand scheme against them. "No no, we should get special treatment. Don't just treat us like everyone else." Oh. So THAT'S what "fair and equal" is? My bad.

Instead of getting hired or not hired based upon your level of education, your abilities, appearance or qualifications you should get hired because to NOT hire you is discriminatory. Gotcha. But maybe my company just doesn't think someone with face tattoos and 8 inch holes in their ears is the image we want to portray professionally.
Or maybe you didn't get hired to help people draw up contracts because you can't spell or speak proper English.

Do I care if someone is gay, bi-sexual or transsexual? Nope. I really couldn't care less. Should they be denied an education or a right to work because of their sexual preference? Not at all.
Should an employer be forced to hire unqualified people just to meet some stupid quota though? Nope. Should a baker be forced to make a cake for someone if he doesn't want to? Of course not. But that's what happens. Otherwise there's a discrimination issue. Yeah. That's why he started his own business, so he didn't have to be told what to bake. Good grief, people, stop your whining. Surely he's not the only person in town that can make a cake. Grab a damn box of Betty Crocker, go home, bake your own cake and shut the hell up already!

I'm a truck driver. I haul freight. If I don't like the price I won't haul it. If I don't like where it's going I can turn down the offer. Shippers don't whine about it, "waaa...he doesn't like our cheap freight going to Oregon. He's such a meanie! We'd better scream discrimination and make him take it." Nah, they just hire another truck. Maybe someone who works cheaper. Maybe some truck driver who likes to hunt Bigfoot in his spare time.
It really is just that easy. You think the Oscars are unfair? Watch Little House on the Prairie reruns instead. No one is forcing you to participate. Really, who cares? It's a trophy for being able to lie convincingly enough that people think you're someone else. Think about it. It's acting. It's basically professional lying. How do you know if they even care if they win? They might just be acting like they do. Most of them are even using fake names!
